Bought a new phone and cant access my email

Same phone, same number but Yahoo tells me my email is already taken, of course it is! it's my fn email ! They say change it but I have folders in that email address and addresses. Plus I can't change it, won't let me unless they send a code to my old phone number, can't change that either !!!
