Department of Thoracic Surgery
Due to my illness, I have had to visit various medical institutions, but such a "special" treatment of patients as here, has not been seen in any other hospital wards. Some time ago, I happened to see a doctor who treats a patient on the principle of "I don't know anything and that's why you're guilty. " If the patient is ignored for a long time and wants to talk to him, the doctor demonstratively turns his back on the patient and leaves, showing that he will not pay attention to such nonsense. Perhaps also by suggesting that "fair" treatment should be paid for in particular. He later mockingly refuses: “I know nothing! If you need a surgeon, go to someone else! See your family doctor - maybe he'll figure it outwhere else to send you! ” No one here is even surprised that a doctor, unaware of the person himself or his diagnoses, can treat patients as devastatingly as a drug addict or prostitute, guided only by personal distorted stereotypes. The lower staff watches the treatment of patients from doctors and begins to treat him the same way. Even during walks, instead of seriously listening to a person, they just start making fun of him. It would be worth mentioning at least such an example of discriminatory treatment - during the walk, the doctor had called one of the patients a "lady". To which the manager shouted: “What?! Is this a lady? Ladies, behold - she, she and she... ”(and began to show to other patients). At one point, I was surprised in this chapter that in cases where one of the doctors treated a patient abusively, others expressed their complete indifference, as if they thought so, or as if they were ashamed to defend the patient. But now I am ashamed of themselves - of their indifference, of the doctor who was able to deal treacherously with a patient who trusted him, and of their leadership allowing such an arrangement. And remembering all this, I would never want to turn to this place for help again.
