Gift Basket Order for Married Couple

Hazelton's has the absolute worst customer service ever. I ordered a gift basket for a recently married couple - the husband is deploying to Iraq to serve our country, so it was imperative that the gift be delivered by a specific date. While placing the order I was prompted to enter my delivery preference and I also paid for expedited shipping, however once I received my email confirmation it was clear the gift would not be delivered in time. I immediately called the company, however the 1-800 number advertised on both their website and the order confirmation email was not in service. Next I live chatted a customer service agent (they advertise 24/7 assistance) and was told that she was the only person working due to it being a Saturday and did not have authority to cancel or refund my order. She stated I should call Monday morning at 9am EST. I sent emails over the weekend as well - both Saturday and Sunday - only to be met by additional unhelpful responses refusing to cancel the order by placing blame on me as the customer and shipping providers. I called at 9:00am on the dot Monday morning, and received a voicemail stating all lines were full, so I requested a call back. By 9:45am I had yet to receive a call back, so I called again, and received the same response. I then live chatted AGAIN, only to be told no one could help me. This is ridiculous. I've been trying since I placed the order to cancel it, and continue to try to get in touch with a manager 2 days later. By 2:00pm EST I still had not received a call back, so I called a final time. The agent I spoke with flat out REFUSED to escalate my case to a manager after I made numerous pleas. Why deny a customer an opportunity to speak to someone in charge? This is the absolute worst customer service I have ever received in my entire life. The company refuses to cancel the order, to allow me to speak to a manager, or to let me pay additional money for further expedited shipping. DO NOT ORDER FROM HAZELTON'S GIFTS. Go to Harry & David's instead. Hazelton does not care about your customer experience or satisfaction. They overpromise and underdeliver, then refuse to provide alternative solutions.
