Return of Undersize Love Bracelet
1
I purchased online from Cartier a "love" bracelet which turned out to be too small after my wife tried it on and wore it for two days. I returned the bracelet to Cartier within their return period, with all original packaging, using their return shipment FedEx airbill and Cartier received it 4/9/21. I notified them the returned bracelet was too small sized, and I thereafter purchased the correct sized Love bracelet from Cartier, which was delivered to us. Following the return on 4/9/21, I heard nothing from Cartier for a month, nor received any refund of the purchase price of the returned item. I have attempted to telephone their customer service only to be treated to lengthy holds and a repetitive recorded message that they have gotten too busy to promptly answer calls. My calls were not picked up after holds of some 30 minutes. Finally, one of my calls the first week of May was answered by a Cartier "ambassador" who could not address my questions as to the status of the returned bracelet a month prior. A Cartier "manager" named Vanessa did return my call and for the first time advised me that the returned "Love" bracelet had some scratches visible on it and was not in acceptable condition for a return, but that Carter would "polish" it and return ship it to me within a week. I expressed my extreme dissatisfaction with the this "offer" from Cartier, noting that the Love bracelet had to be affixed to a wrist using series of small crews and being gold, perhaps these screws showed marks of being screwed into the bracelet, which would be unavoidable in order even to try on the bracelet. Manager Vanessa would not relent. Notwithstanding, the original bracelet has not as of this date May 19 be returned by Cartier. I reached out again by phone to Cartier customer service and upon finally reaching an "ambassador", I was told only that manager Vanessa would be notified to phone my back and explain. As of May 19, no one from Cartier has called, provided an explanation as to the delays or the status, or offered any assurance when they would supposedly return the bracelet to me. This is now going on 6 weeks since Cartier received the return of the undersized bracelet, and I fear that I now be deprived both of the $11, 000 cost of the returned bracelet as well as the bracelet itself lanquishing somewhere at Cartier. This is unacceptable and I demand compensation.
