Customer service for product not received

I placed an order for approx $250. An item for $80 was not received. Brylane said they shipped 2 but only 1 arrived on Friday. I called because I need the item and told them I didn't receive it. They proceeded to tell me that the fed ex notes said they attempted delivery today at my store but no one was there. First of all I have cameras and fedex did not come for that item today. Second it is a private residence. When I asked for a replacement because obviously it is lost Santiago the manager in CS proceeded to tell me that I NEED TO PAY FOR A REPLACEMENT AND WAIT 30 DAYS FOR A CREDIT FIR THE LOST ITEM FROM FEDEX. Why should I pay for an item not received. This is just bad business and terrible customer care. He told me I could wait 30 days and then reorder when I get the credit. Who needs a planter in August? This is a terrible company to deal with. I told him if my issue was not resolved that I would stop my credit card until resolved. He proceeded to tell me that Brylane doesn't give free items ( what is free- I already paid for it) I am not responsible for shipping . Your company should stand by its customer. When I told him I would stop the charge he responded by saying that I should do what I must.
