Odd problem

I called Netgear to report my cable modem router (nighthawk - barely 2 years old) stopped powering on. With an IT support provider I was asked to trouble shoot, reset apparatus several times, unplug, plug back in, press power button on and off. The unit would not power on, no lights, nothing. I had no WiFi for 5 days. Ordered a new AC adapter, still nothing. I needed to call Comcast ( cable provider) to downgrade my plan, comcast sent me an email to confirm. That evening my router mysteriously powered on. I had already ordered a new router as the Netgear representative suggested. Really odd the unit powered on out of the blue. User's recommendation: I do not have a recommendation, I’d like one from Netgear though.
