Refusal to replace an unsafe tire

1

Our tire pressure light went on. We were advised by Fox to go to a Firestone dealer, who found a nail in the tire. It measured only 3/32, so was considered unsafe and not repairable (in fact, 2 other tires were the same). Fox said that since I had damaged the tire, I would have to pay to replace it, and they would replace the other two. Both the dealer and I agreed that this was not fair. They sent us to the waiting room while they tried to negotiate with Fox. Finally, they came out and said that they had replaced the tire at their cost. I don't think that's right, and I'm sure Ch 15 in Phoenix would think this would be a good human interest story. Fox needs to reimburse the Firestone dealer, who was much more gracious to out of state visitors than Fox. All previous attempts to get satisfaction from Customer Service have failed. I have a copy of their invoice.
