Sewing machine has inferior parts- bait and switch

1

I recently bought a Janome HD-3000 sewing machine from Walmart online. I was looking for a heavy duty machine. Every review, and every vendor online lists this machine as having a 1.0A motor. This machine can barely sew through 4 layers of cotton. Like an idiot, I thought the problem was me. I never, ever thought to check the label on the machine to check the motor amperage until it was too late. Guess I'll have to go back to using my 60 year old Singer. At least that one, when it works, has a 0.9A motor. This machine is misrepresented everywhere. It is underpowered and overpriced. What a piece of junk. Janome has downgraded the motors in their high end machines, and basically hasn't released that information. Nor have they lowered the price. And "customer support" is non-existent. Trying to navigate their site or call is a ring-around-the-rosy of aggravation. Janome is *knowingly* selling a machine with downgraded, inferior parts, for top dollar. There ought to be a law... So I have a $400 sewing machine that isn't as powerful as one that costs half as much, and I'm stuck with it. I am really pissed. How can they get away with this? My advice to anybody- don't buy any Janome sewing machine, because this company is a bunch of crooks. User's recommendation: DO NOT BUY JANOME HD-3000! 0.5A MOTOR!
