On 01/11/2019 a Dominion Energy agent marked the gas line locations on my property. On 01/12/2019 I spoke directly with a customer service representative, “Amber” to inquire why my property had been marked (as I had made no service request). At this time I also communicated that if a gas line technician was going to perform any work on my property that I be notified regarding scheduling and the nature of the work so that I could be present when the work was performed. This request was made based on video surveillance footage showing a Dominion Technician in my yard exhibiting suspicious behavior, (peering into window wells and through basement windows. A section of my property was excavated this week for reasons unrelated to my gas service. The excavation extends beyond the utility easement boundaries as shown on the property plat map. Additionally, the excavation removed grass, plantings and bushes in areas outside of the easement boundary and the general area was left damaged and very sloppily graded. There was also trash thrown on the ground left by the workers from what looked like their lunch. I again called and spoke with the customer service representative “Amber” after seeing the damage and was told that the service Foreman would be contacting me to address concerns. I provided my cell phone number but I did not receive any subsequent call. The gross unprofessional conduct of this company and its representatives is inexcusable and unacceptable. Dominion Energy has the legal right to perform gas line-work in designated easement areas but they do not have any right to trespass on, or cause damage to, private property. The unresponsiveness of the customer service department shows that the company holds little value in adhering to community or quality standards.
