This was a known issue and there should have been a recall. The unit cost approximately $1500 some 8 years ago and now a comparable model is around $2k. They had a discount program related to this problem but have discontinued it. I've been a Pioneer customer for over 40 years and still have an old VSX-9500S. I will never purchase Pioneer again! User's recommendation: Don't waste your time, they don't stand behind their products.
