Spam phone calls from Angies list/home advisor

1

I went online to Angies List to find a snow removal company. Like a fool, I filled out a form that contained my email and phone number. I also checked the box that indicating I only wanted to receive a list of recommended companies and I did NOT want to book through Angies List. The list of approved snow removal contractors I received consisted of 2 companies. Neither one had a single review to read. I then went to google and found 4 snow removal companies near me, each with multiple reviews. Within 5 minutes of giving my email and phone number on the Angies List form, I received a phone call from a VERY pushy Home Advisor salesman who said he was from Angies List/ Home Advisor and he wanted to set up a job for me. I politely explained that I had very clearly checked the box indicating I did NOT want to be contacted by Angies List and to please remove me from any future calls but he hung up on me before I could finish my sentence. I also immediately received 4 spam messages - 2 from Home Advisor, 1 from Angies List, and one from handy.com It turns out Angies List is now hooked up with Home Advisor and Handy.com and gives your information to them so they can spam you. User's recommendation: DO NOT USE angie’s list, home advisor, or handy.com unless you want to receive spam phone calls and emails!
