Don’t buy items without expectingevery inch of the item

I purchased a coat for Christmas. It was for my daughter which she loved. The purchase was made in November with a return date of January. I just wanted to exchange the coat because the stitched seam under the arm started to come undone. I had the receipt and everything. However, because it had been warn there was nothing they could do. I need a coat for my daughter and you can look to see it was poorly made by the way it came apart. I was also told that because I purchased it in November it was out of the 30-day return policy. I had to show my receipt and state it was a Christmas item and I had until 1/5/2020. They make you not want to buy anything. It was a 30 plus tax coat and I need a coat for my child so at this point, she is wearing my coat and I am wearing sweaters since I drive to work and she stands at a bus stop. I don't return many things and this is the one time I really need to return/exchange but no one is helping and I have no idea who I can turn too. I don't steal or commit fraudulent activity to get stuff so I don't understand why this can't be a good favor situation.
