The cost of running a private ambualnce

3

I have reviewed many of the complaints. Most all are centered on the cost. First off if you have insurance a majority should be covered unless you have an insane deductible. Next most insurances including medicare and Medicaid only pay a small portion of the bill. That leaves the private pay to help cover the rest. Plus ontop of all of it they only get about a 30% return on all bills. Next no EMT working private is making bank. They are paid minimum wage at times. The only way they make enough to live off is on overtime or second jobs. So if the EMT has a little attitude think about the hours this staff member has put in User's recommendation: Encourage your fire department to do thier job. You pay thier wages you shouldn't have to pay for a private ambulance in emergent situations.
