Contacted Shentel about installing high speed internet to my home back in March 2020. Was told it would have to be run from 2 houses down and would cost me $800 to build the line. As the covid -19 pandemic unfolded I became uncertain about my job security, so I asked if I could wait awhile before I proceeded and was told it was no problem. I called back Monday and was told that my cost to build was only valid for 60 days and a new service ability would have to be done. Today I found out that the price has now doubled to $1600. This is clearly a case of price gouging by a company that knows that millions of kids will be attending online schooling and will be dependent on their services. User's recommendation: avoid.
