The video doorbell uses your phone's default notification sound whenever it alerts to motion. To simplify what I mean, let's say someone is approaching my door. My phone notifies me with the same sound that I receive when I receive a text. According to the "support" forum on Arlo website, this has been a complaint for roughly 3 years. The response I get? They will pass it along to the engineers. Total BS company User's recommendation: Don't walk, run away from Arlo.
