YORK KIA OF MEDFORD SELLS LEMONS

BUYERS BEWARE!!-I bought a brand new Kia Sportage 2013 one year ago in October 2012. In fact I bought two. Exactly the same for myself & my GF. Since buying this vehicle, I have had my radio replaced 3x & have a “transmission” problem that York Kia refuses to diagnose. This all began right after buying the vehicle. Here is my story. I wanted a 2013 Kia Sportage with leather, moon roof & remote start. I couldn’t afford the EX so the dealership offered to put me in an LX (base model) & they will add those options there. They said it would be cheaper for me to do so. So, I did it with both vehicles. Great deal, right? Not so fast! What they failed to mention is that this is considered aftermarket work & are not liable for any repairs. Even though, the day I picked up my cars they had installed all this work. I never once drove or even had the car in my possession without the remote starter, leather & moon roof. I didn’t even see the car before then because they ordered my car for me because it wasn’t on the lot. I just picked out the color. I have no idea where they subcontracted their work out. They never mentioned that to me. In fact, when writing my contract they wrote the work in as part of my loan. They wrote it in as added options. I was under the assumption all work was done there. Why wouldn’t I be? I wasn’t told otherwise .Now, my radio has been freezing since I bought the car. I lose audio, no back up camera, I get a black screen or NO audio what so ever consistently. The only remedy is for me to bring it in & they have to “hard reset” or upgrade software. This is still happening.. They are now blaming me for the radio saying it’s the remote start. Ok. Well, I had nothing to do with that, I have no idea where KIA sent there work to be done. Not to mention, it took 3 radios before they finally admitted there was a problem. They initially told me it was normal & that it’s because I live in Boston with tall buildings. Are you kidding me? So buy a KIA but not if you plan on traveling through a major city. Not to mention, my girlfriend has the same car not having the issue. This isn’t the White Mountains. Boston is a major city with reception. How many radios & how many “hard resets” do I have to go through in one year on a BRAND NEW CAR before I get justice? My other MAJOR problem is my vehicle makes a knocking noise when turning right .They have yet to be able to diagnose this. In fact, they said it’s normal. But again, my girlfriend’s car doesn’t make this noise. The tech that diagnosed my car said “I hear the noise but can’t figure it out; you need to bring it back when it gets louder & more frequent”. Really? That’s your expert opinion. I pursued this further & the contacted BBB & they sent out an independent engineer & he diagnosed it as a transmission problem. All I asked York for was to either fix my vehicle & if you can’t then replace it with the same vehicle at no cost to me. Just whatever I owe on my loan please transfer another vehicle of equal value. They agreed to this twice & both times they cancelled on me at the last minute. Then they made me an offer for a trade in. They said come in and we will rewrite your loan for another 75 months.Wait a minute. I just paid 12 months of payments. Shouldn’t the loan, only be for 63 months at the same amount. They said no, it’s a trade in. So, when it’s all said in done, I’m going to be paying for KIA for 87 months!. So, the 6k in payments I made over the last year will go nowhere? Look, I can trade my car in anywhere & take a loss. Why t would I go back to Kia after my experience? This wasn’t supposed to be a trade in; it was supposed to be a replacement vehicle. I talk to Kia Corp.office & they gave York 3k to get me a replacement. York pulled the dealwhen they clearly know that I am in a Lemon. They still wanted to make a sale & make more money out of this. Where did that 3k go? All they cared about was screweing me out another 12 months payments. I have been without my car for 27 days because I had to take it to YORK for both of these issues.York Kia was very accommodating to me when I was purchasing my vehicle. They were willing to move mountains when I wanted to buy TWO sportages. They were going to do whatever it took to make me happy & make that sale. But after the sale, YORK & Kia Corporate have been less than helpful. An absolute nightmare to deal with. They are extremely unprofessional & could care less about me or the problem because basically they already have my money. This has been the biggest mistake of my life. I will be pursuing this further through legal action & will hopefully have a favorable outcome for me. But regardless of my outcome, I hope this review sways at least one person from buying from York Kia & buying from KIA in general. Please use my story as a cautionary tale before buying! BUYERS BEWARE!!
