Good day..My daughter, Kami Parson was until yesterday an employee at Applebee's at 3690 Cascade Road, Atlanta, GA 30331. She called me around 7:15pm because the manager had cursed her out and told her to get the f**k out. On Sunday, she explained to me that the tablet she uses for UberEats were not working properly so when she reported to work on yesterday, the manager Doug, (would not provide last name) told her that she had broken it and she denied breaking it. He told her that he was going to pull the video from Sunday night. He then went on to say that nah, I ain't pulling no video and told her to get the f**k out. I went into the facility and asked for him and I asked him very nicely if we could sit down for a minute so we could discuss what happened. He told me that he didn't have time and I had to take it up with my daughter. I asked him did he say those words to her and he just hunched his shoulders and told me to talk to my daughter. I then asked him, so you can't talk to me at all and he stated no, talk to your daughter. I informed him that I would be contacting corporate because he was very unprofessional. As I was talking to him, the other servers were observing what was going on and one mouthed to me, yes he did..indicating that he did say what my daughter said he did. NOW, she has been working there for the past three months, putting herself through school and trying to be successful. She has never had any disciplinary actions against her, always on time and always working double shifts. I would like to file a formal complaint against Doug, who would not give me his last name for the following reasons: Wrongful Termination: He fired her for no particular reason and he did it in a very unprofessional manner. She indicated to me that her peers were there and it was very humiliating how he was shouting and yelling at her for no reason at all. And then, to tell her to get the f**k out, crossed the line. Creating A Hostile Work Environment: He is making it impossible for her to work there and be the best she can be. Always yelling and screaming at her for no particular reason. And furthermore, he has other employees that he can and probably will inflict the same behavior on them. He need sensitivity training and how to conduct himself as a manager. Belittling Employees: Now, it is one thing to reprimand an employee and it should be done privately, not in front of all the staff and customers in the restaurant. He clearly humiliated her and she was on the brink of tears. Our young people need our support and when they are gainfully employed, they look to managers for assistance and guidance. It is obvious that she did not receive that from him. I would like to have her position reinstated. She was fired unjustly and without precedence. I also recommend that the managers at these facility, that hires a lot of young people, take sensitivity training so they can properly and rightfully make decisions about hiring and firing. I will be following up with you in a couple of weeks and if nothing is resolved, I will file a complaint with the local EEO office. This should not be tolerated at Applebee's nor any establishment and it pangs me to write this letter but this is the second time she has complained about this manager, nothing was done and I feel the need to let corporate know what is happening at this particular establishment.
