I had not used my card in a while to consolidate my bills and watch my spending...I do have to also state that when I charged on my Merrick Bank card I paid in full each month the amount I had charged. Not only did Merrick Bank close my account but also it dinged my credit score. When I called to ask about it and see how to remedy it the supervisor spoke to told me I should have read the fine print when I opened the account and that it stated the bank can close my account for any reason. I asked for it to be escalated and he told me that the "buck stopped here". The call was disconnected by the supervisor. VERY BAD BANK WITH RUDE REPRESENTATIVES AND SUPERVISORS. I called again the next morning and the representative put me on hold for a few minutes and said she filled out an escalation form and that someone would call me back.
