Won’t get a car rental reservation refund!

Update by user May 26, 2020 Thanks to the site Pissed Customer, and other similar sites, Hot Wire did finally see the light. Many people like myself that had reservations made through Hot Wire and got stuck holding the bag, due to the Corona Virus, made their refund complaints noticed on these sites. Two weeks ago I received an e-mail from Hot Wire stating that their car rental no refund policy was changed with their customers during this pandemic! Thankfully I was issued a full refund for the $231.00. This is the 2nd time I had to go to Pissed Customer with a complaint about an unfair practice when dealing with a business. Both times I received satisfaction! Thank You so much pissed customer! Original review posted by user Mar 31, 2020 I live in Florida, and make an annual April Trip to Ohio to meet with my accountant, and to file my income taxes. I always do this prior to April 15th! I was contacted today by my accountant and told their offices are now closed due to the Coronavirus, and the Ohio Governor has most of the people in the State at home under self-quarantine, and their office would not reopen by my scheduled appointment on April 7th. I was told to reschedule the appointment and trip for sometime in May. I made reservations for a one-week car rental though Hot wire, and attempted today to cancel this reservation, and had hoped to get a refund of the $231.00 I paid in advance, or at least get some sort of credit for a car rental I would have to do for sometime in May. I was told that due to the terms of the rental agreement no refunds or credits would be issued! Under normal circumstances I would understand this cancellation policy. But the current situation is not normal, with most of the country having to stay at home, and most businesses being closed due to the pandemic! One would think that Hot wire, and Hertz the rental car company the reservations were made with, would flex their policies a little during these very difficult times, and work a little with their loyal customers! Ten years of bookings through Hot wire mean absolutely nothing to them right now! Greed is what it is all about! I will be making reservations again for sometime in May, but it won't be through Hot wire, and I won't be renting any more cars through Hertz! User's recommendation: Do not use Hot wire when making any travel reservations!
