Wont close

Ive used this product twice. The second time the OPEN button stayed lit halfway through cooking. Manipulated the tray enough to finish. Tried to use fryer today and Im having the same problem only this time I cant get the heat to turn on at all. Anyone else have this problem or a solution to it.
