I received a phone call on my home phone from a foreign sounding man claiming to be from the "Windows Support Center" telling me I had viruses on my computer and that my computer was "sending alerts to their networks" and that he wanted to fix the problem for me over the phone. I knew this was a scam, so I played along right until the point I had to give the man remote access to my computer. I asked, "Where are you calling from?" He said, "WinMac Solutions, but we make calls for the Windows Support Center." I told him I knew it was a scam after that, and he told me, "OK, we'll just have to block your computer from our server.", and used profane language before ending the call. This company, WinMac Solutions, is pretending to be calling from/or contracted with the Windows Support Center to make outbound calls. Never let them have remote access to your computer.
