I had ECS geothermal company out of Smithville, MO that I now despise install my system. My house required two units due to its size. One unit hasn’t had a single issue but the other Waterfurnace unit has had issues since it was taken out of the box. My installer totally misrepresented the warranty and their services. After putting bandages on the unit until the warranty expired they then stated that the coil and valve went bad and I needed to buy new parts. They installed the new parts and happily charged for them and their service. Since then we now have a leak and have had to recharge the system biannually. Now it is a larger leak and the system needs charged each year. The owner of ECS geothermal refuses to admit that either Waterfurnace or their workmanship is at fault. This is my eleventh year of dealing with these issues. I refuse to pay anymore for continual bad services from ECS geothermal. I contacted Waterfurnace to inform them that they have a bad distribution partner. I don’t know if they even care that they are being misrepresented or are receiving bad recognition due to horrible installation procedures. The installer had said they spoke to Waterfurnace and that they agreed that they had sent out bad units. If that was the case, why wouldn’t they warranty the product. Waterfurnace won’t comment either way on that point. I never knew who lied about that. The bewilderment of my situation started when I noticed no ductwork to several of our rooms in the house. The installer for ECS geothermal said, “I didn’t know that you would want those rooms included in the system “ to my amazement, he was being serious. It’s egregious that our installer is doing business in this manner and Waterfurnace is still backing them. We were given many promises from the contractor that did not hold true such as the depth of the lines for the system. Our frost line here is at 3feet but the lines were buried less than 4feet. We were told they install them around 5 feet before we agreed to the system. Just another lie we had to digest. I believe that if our installation would have been done by a credible contractor we would not have had these issues. At the same time Waterfurnace should be checking their dealerships and making sure the customer is satisfied. This is just my opinion on the services and quality of the equipment. We are switching service companies and hope for better luck. Best of luck to everyone else.
