Whatever you do DO NOT buy a car from graysonline

1

Bought a 2010 Holden Cruze by auction on Thursday for $3600 with no issues identified in the ad. Words ‘good for age and kms’ actually appeared in the ad. Picked it up on Tuesday after the October long weekend from Hamilton North. Got blueslip done around the corner at Mc Donald’s Auto Services at their suggestion. Got green slip and rego done at the Service NSW nearby. Started driving the car back to Sydney, when the car caught fire 30kms away. Fire brigade and police were called. Had to get it towed. No one is taking responsibility, yet it’s clear the car had a major pre-existing fault which was not disclosed. Like Kuli I never would have bought the car if I knew it had any issues. Grays has refused to take responsibility and I’m now out of pocket $5,000 with more costs to come. If you think you’re getting a good deal at auction through grays PLEASE THINK AGAIN!!! They’ve told me I have no rights because they’ve gone off what the vendor told them. How is this possible? Can’t believe businesses are permitted to sell absolute lemons (routinely by the looks of it) and get away with it. NSW Fair Trading needs to do something about this asap as from what I’m seeing this is not an isolated incident.
