Western Union Holds Your money after 90 days

Update by user Jan 04, 2021 Western Union knew that I was in the Philippines and they send the money to be pickeded up in the USA, instead of the Philippines. I notified them immediately, but it has been 10 days and still no response. It comes down to this. They are a horrible company to deal with. They create rules that are not well thought out. I have talked to over 20 people in the Philippines, who have had the same issue, plus others who had numerous issues. I have filed a complaint with the Philippines authorities, who plan to shut down Western Union, unless they fix all customer issues by July 11, 2020. I also complained to the Banking Department in Connecticut, who will allow my bank to charge back the charge to Western Union.I am also creating videos on Youtube.com to let other people know to stay away from that company and share my experiences about them. Original review posted by user Dec 04, 2020 On June 26, 2020, I initiated a money transfer from my debit card to the Philippines, where I am currently residing. Due to several lockdowns, I was unable to collect my money within 90 days of the money transfer. On December 1, 2020, I logged on to Western Union to cancel the transfer and return the funds to my debit card account. THey told me I had to call from the same telephone number I had on file before I came to the Philippines. That is impossible, since I no longer have that phone number. They said they can under no circumstance refund my money otherwide. This is so absurd. In effect, they have held my money for almost 6 months and now want to steal my money. User's recommendation: Never Use Western Union.
