Weichert in Chatham NJ: Unethical/fraudulent in “Highest and Best Offer” solicitation
1
Update by user Feb 08, 2018 Just to be 100% clear in my complaint: it is my OPINION that Weichert (Chatham) was unethical, and possibly fraudulent (TBD in court), in their decisions and actions involving this real estate transaction. Original review posted by user Feb 06, 2018 We were interested in a condo in Chatham, NJ that was being listed by a Weichert agent, Rosemarie D'Andrea. She informed our agent that multiple parties were interested and seller was conducting a "Highest and Best Offer" bid solicitation. We offered at $10,000 over list price - and a few days later we got a call that we had "won" the bidding process. We were on what should have been the final day of attorney review period when we got forwarded an email from seller's attorney cancelling the deal without any explanation. Our attorney contacted Weichert, only to learn that they had accepted and presented a higher offer from a couple that had LOST in the "highEST and bEST" bidding process a week earlier! We had to counter by increasing our offer another $10,500 in order to secure this purchase! We strongly feel that Weichert and their agent committed fraud in this highly unethical, and likely illegal shenanigans! Stay far away from Weichert and this agent in particular. We had emailed out a letter to her shortly after her fraud, and she never even had the human decency to reply! Not even "I'm so sorry this happened to you, it was out of my control..." or any other explanation. Despicable!
