2/28/2020 We bought and paid for tickets to go from Bangkok Thailand to Chang Mai Thailand with a change of plane in Kunming China. When we got to Kunming we were told we could not arrive from Thailand and return to Thailand on the same day through China. After lots of discussion between the China Eastern Air people and China customs they would allow us to re-enter Thailand if we went to Hong Kong then back to Thailand. The China Eastern Airline people changed our tickets and hurried us to the airplane for the flight. Once in Hong Kong we were told that we had to pay an additional $6,000.00 to get back to Chiang Mai Thailand. They would not accept our credit card and suggested we have a friend or relative wire the funds. At this point we decided to just go home. When we discussed this with the China Eastern Airline personnel they said they could not exchange our tickets, that we had to have our travel agent make the exchange. At this point it was about midnight so we decided to just buy tickets from another airline and return home. Once home we started working to get a refund. We still have not received a refund. Called numerous times but China Eastern Airline said they would not issue a refund as they never received the funds from our credit card company. The credit card company said they got the money when they issued the tickets. Big mess! No help from Chine Eastern Airline: sad:
