Was given the WRONG card that wasn’t registered under my name.

When I was checking out, the cashier learned that there was an issue with the card and asked me to wait in line at the customer service booth. After waiting a while, the lady at the desk told me to call customer service, so I did. Then, after a few minuets of conversing on the phone, they concluded that I should OBTAIN A NEW CARD because ANOTHER NAME IS REGISTERED ON THE CARD,therefore I CAN'T use my points! I have been USING the SAME card for over 4 years and NEVER LOST OR EXCHANGED it. It says online that I should be able to just say "Redeem please" to checkout with savings. However, this did not happen. I'm also upset that I wasted a lot of time trying to solve an issue but in the end was given such IRRESPONSIBLE conclusion. I will encourage others not to shop at Sobeys and BE CAREFUL about using the membership card and not receiving the rewards that was promised or just be GIVEN A WRONG CARD THAT YOU CAN NOT REDEEM POINTS FROM.YOU HAVE MANY OTHER BETTER OPTIONS TO BUY GROCERIES!! Very disappointed to see a big corporate handle things this way.
