Warranty Avoidance

1

I bought an expensive laptop that had a 2 year warranty. After a year and half it started acting up. I took it to my local computer shop thinking it had a virus. They diagnosed the motherboard as bad and suggested I check to see if a warranty was still in effect. After checking my paperwork I found the warranty and contacted Gigabyte. They authorized sending it to them. The next thing I know is I get an email saying it wasn't covered because of liquid damage. This laptop has NEVER had liquids spilled on it or even around it. I am the ONLY one in possession of it, which is why I know they are lying to avoid the warranty repair..or the tech made a very bad diagnosis. Of course they'll repair my laptop for a little over $1000. They'll replace the motherboard and the keyboard. Funny how suddenly the keyboard came into play as being bad too. As I said there was no liquid spilled on or around my laptop. After reading other reviews I noticed blaming the customer was a common response. I am continuing to pursue this with Gigabyte and will update as it progresses.
