Visibly unclean and unkept rotating Food conveyor belt at checkout.

No one else was in line before me and the Winn-Dixie employee Lady operating the Checkout/register was finished with the customer who had been checking out prior to my arrival. She did not appear to be rushed but she did not stop the conveyor and it continued to recycle. It was very wet in many different spots and appeared to have raised areas in certain spots. I ask her for some towels so I could wipe the conveyor as I showed her my Winn-Dixie phone app. My thought was she would take the towel and begin to wipe the conveyor herself but she did not. Instead she made a derogatory sounding remark like “Oh that’s just water” and I had been watching it recycle and it involve the entire conveyor belt not just a few spots and now as I was wiping it the towels were becoming attached to the conveyor in sticky mounds of whatever was on there. That was disgraceful. That conveyor should’ve been stopped and cleaned thoroughly before any of my groceries came in contact with it. I do not want my groceries to be contaminated with decaying fish liquid, meat liquid, egg products or any other decaying liquid, pathogens or E.coli that have accumulated on an unkept conveyor belt contaminating the food that I’m going to put into my car or take into my kitchen or place into my refrigerator. All conveyor belt should be cleaned frequently and between customers to avoid this kind of contamination and the spread of food borne pathogens. It is the least you could do as food handlers. Get it right Winn-Dixie. Do it on your own or you will be forced to do it !!
