On 9-2-08 Dr. Kassahun removed my kidney. On 9-11-08 I was rushed to Emergency Exploratory Surgery where they found during my 1st surgery, my small intestine and my colon had been nicked. I was suffering from Sepsis(Perotinitis). My Abdomen was full of fecal matter and undigested food. They were forced to remove nearly 10 inches of my small intestine and a quarter of my colon. I woke up on a ventliator and in extreme pain. I nearly died. On 9-18-08 I again had to have surgery to correct the absesses on my incisions. On 9-24-08 I was sent to a rehab hospital for rehabilitation and recouperation. On 10-28-08 I was sent home in a hospital bed, using the services of a Home Health aid to assist me in bathing and to change my bed, a Home Health Nurse to monitor me, give me injections, take blood for tests, and a Physical TYherapist to help me to walk and get up. I was not able to walk on my own until nearly Christmas. I finally two weeks ago was able to drive my car. It has been over 6 months since my surgery. I am still not back to where I was before my surgery. A surgery that was only going to take 3 to 5 days hospitalization. I have been told that it will be more than a year before I can feel better, if then.
