On 6/16/09, I purchased an Acer Aspire One from our neighborhood Wal-Mart. I have had problems for about 4-7 days now. I have been covered up with schoowork. I called the number that I have for Acer [protected]). While on the phone, the recording told me that my serial number was one that had to be dealt with on the internet. I spoke with three reps. from Acer.com (unfortunately, the evidence I have to offer is only from the last of the three reps that I spoke with tonight.). They told me that I needed to do a factory restoration on the computer (all three told me this). The last one (as you can see in my evidence presented) informed me that I would have to buy a CD from them and a CD/DVD external drive to be able to complete this procedure. I have it under warranty and registered through them. According to the warranty, Acer was supposed to replace the laptop or fix the original one for me. I highly commend Wal-Mart Stores... they told me, since they don't want to honor their own warranty... i'll take care of it myself... i'll give you a new one. They too are not happy with this situation at hand. This is to take place on October 29, 2009. However, there have been serious side effects from Acer's actions tonight. I have Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome and asthma... this situation has caused a flare up... I've been really depressed, hurt, and angry all rolled in one. Also, there is a heart and emphesema patient in the home... it has stressed him out to where his blood pressure before bed was: 128/64 with a 79 pulse. This is unusual for him to have this type of blood pressure and his chest was tight. He wants you to sock it to Acer where it hurts. He further said Wal-Mart is to be commended for their kindness and assistance. We both have suffered mentally and emotionally. We both feel Acer should have to compensate us for the harm this situation has bestowed upon us along with a formal apology to us, Wal-Mart and to you for what they have done... along with whatever action, fines, etc. you feel is in order. Here I submit Exhibit A: The last conversation with Acer rep. DeeAnne Hedrick: Hi Akhi Akhil R: Thank you for being online. I appreciate your patience. Akhil R: May I confirm that the serial number of your computer is LUS700B02891438C4A1601? DeeAnne Hedrick: the last two reps asked me to do the restoring process and it didn't work DeeAnne Hedrick: yes that is it Akhil R: By validating the serial number of your computer, I can see that your computer is in warranty. DeeAnne Hedrick: yes it is DeeAnne Hedrick: and registered as well DeeAnne Hedrick: 1-5JHDIX is the number I was given so that you would have something to refer to Akhil R: May I confirm that the issue with your computer is that mouse pointer is not working correctly? DeeAnne Hedrick: yes... and then I clicked left clicker and the arrow keeps jumping and won't let me do anything Akhil R: I can see that the previous agents suggest you to do a full factory recovery to resolve the issue. Akhil R: May I know whether you are not able to do that? DeeAnne Hedrick: yes and it failed DeeAnne Hedrick: I know it's hard to believe but it happened Akhil R: As you are not able to do the full factory recovery from the recovery partition using the ALT+F10 you need to do the full factory recovery from the recovery CD. DeeAnne Hedrick: sir I don't have any way to do that DeeAnne Hedrick: I don't have a CD tray built into this one... it's the Aspire One... the burgundy 2 pounder... lol Akhil R: You need to purchase the recovery CD and an external CD/DVD drive to do the full factory recovery. DeeAnne Hedrick: this is getting to the point where I want another one or my money back. DeeAnne Hedrick: with what? I'm on fixed income DeeAnne Hedrick: I got lucky when I bought this computer. Akhil R: I am sorry for the inconvenience. Akhil R: We have no other option. DeeAnne Hedrick: be right back Akhil R: I will give you the steps to purchase the recovery CD. Akhil R: To order replacement recovery discs/media, please follow the steps below: 1. Go to  http://support.acer.com/ 2. Click "eRecovery CD Purchase" 3. Enter Serial Number or SNID 4. Enter Shipping information 5. Enter Billing Information Akhil R: Please keep in mind that you will lose all the data stored in the computer while doing the recovery.
