I attended several of Liss Caldwell's classes at ACE community college in Lismore and Byron Bay College. They were a complete waste of time. The only reason most of them filled was because they were free to small business. We all assumed because they were being taught at the community college that they would be taught by an expert or at least someone with valid experience. Liss taught like she has just read the topic last night, she was scattered in her teaching, jumping from one thing to the next, not checking for understanding with her students and if anyone asked questions, the response was 'I'm not talking smarties when we are on maltesers'. She provided no resources to help with learning and notes consisted of her taking a picture on her phone of her scribblings on the board, saying she would send it to us, when she never did. Not that it would have helped, her scribblings made no sense. In class Liss showed other local business's social media accounts and pointed out what they did wrong. She kept repeating, 'what's discussed in the classroom stays in the classroom', yet she was in a class full of local small businesses, tearing down the attempts of other small businesses. It was completely inappropriate. She constantly pointed out what others did wrong but could never show clear examples of small business doing it right. Seeing her own social media accounts was a red flag that she didn't know what she was talking about. The clients she talked about having could never be named and she never showed examples of her own work. She was extremely short-tempered and lacking in any patience for her students. Liss's teaching style was to talk at the class, and talk over the class. I began to realise that she couldn't answer questions because she in fact did not know the answers. At Byron Bay college I witnessed Liss have a face to face screaming match with a student in a vulgar and unprofessional display of aggression. I was not surprised to hear that she no longer worked at either colleges and that her attempts to hold her own workshops failed. I am also not surprised to read the other reviews for Liss Caldwell on this page. Amongst the small business community of the Northern Rivers, Liss Caldwell has gained much negative notoriety for her duplicity, underhanded tactics and her ability to embellish and lie about almost everything she does. The only thing that surprises me is that she still tries to put herself out in the Northern Rivers area. User's recommendation: Avoid Liss Caldwell.
