United Healthcare terminated my mother’s Advantage plan while giving her 18 days to respond to an address change.

After moving 3 1/2 years ago, and sending many correspondence to my mother over this time United Healthcare (UHC) terminated her Medicare Advantage coverage with 18 days notice. They claim they didn't know about her 3 mile move from Aurora, CO to Denver, CO. During this 18 day period mom was very ill, and missed seeing the address information request. There is no difference in plans between Aurora and Denver. I filed an appeal with UHC, and was told they did nothing wrong. My 97 year old mother is now stuck with unexpected hospital charges from a hospital stay in July 2018 with her plan terminated on June 30th. So, I could go on, but enough said that I would strongly recommend that you find another Medicare Advantage insurance provider. UHC is very unpredictable with their business practices, and clearly not interested in providing caring services to their members.
