Unhappy with Hyundai Finance Title Department
3
I have been a happy Hyundai owner for the past 11 years, owning 4 different Hyundai vehicles in our family. I am trading in my Hyundai Sonata and had paid off the car. I never received the letter showing the lien was paid off and the title was also not returned to me. When I decided to purchase another vehicle I requested the documents from the Hyundai Finance Customer Service Department and was assured that the title and lien release letter would be sent to me in 3 to 5 business days. I gave them my Federal Express account to send me the title next day air. After waiting 9 days (They assured me it would be sent out within 3 to 5 business days) I still don't have the title or the lien release letter. I called again today and was told that I could not speak with the Title Department and the only thing that they could do was to send an email to the Title department to try and get it expedited. I asked to speak with a supervisor and she told me that they could not speak to anyone and all she could do was to send another email. She gave me a P.O. Box in California to lodge a complaint. This is hardly what I would call good customer service! At this point, I am not sure when and if I will get the title. The Customer Service Department seems helpless to get any response from their own internal Title Department. User's recommendation: Do not use Hyundai Finance to finance your vehicle. Use BOA or USAA!
