I went in to Us Cellular back in January to look at phones to see about services,the assocaite asked for my I.d and social security number, I asked if he was checking my credit, and he said yes, so I gave him permission then, but I didn't get the phone then, because I was gonna have to put a deposit down because of my credit. I went back in June and the same associate helped me, he remembered me, and I asked him specifically if he had to check my credit again, and plainly said no because they already had my information. I told him if you have to check my credit again then I did not want to sign up for services, and he assured me that he was not. I get an email that my credit had been checked, it was Us Cellular, so now I have two hard inquiries on my report from Us Cellular, and my credit score drops 14 points so I call corporate office and everytime I called I got the run around, even had a meeting with the Sales Manager of the store in Muskogee,Ok. She called the Credit Department and they refuse to write a letter of deletion to have that second inquiry removed. My advice get it in writing that your credit is not being checked. If you don't then walk away, don't get services through this company, they lie to you just to get your business.
