Unable to fill order, charged but no notification

I ordered a fresh hand-made Christmas wreath for my 101 year old grandmother. She is partially blind, but still walks about 2 hours per day. I purchase these fresh wreaths because she can hang them on the front door and touch and smell them as she moves about. I placed this order on 12/7/13, credit card was immediately charged and I received an email confirmation. In the rush of the season I never checked to see if the order had been fulfilled until going through my old emails I realized I had never received a shipping notification. I contacted the company and was told that the manager was not in yet and that she had the list of orders (??!!). They eventually called me back and said that they didn't have the materials to fulfill the order and that it would be cancelled. They were not very apologetic nor conciliatory. I usually try to do this type of business with smaller companies as they are the back-bone of our economy and communities, but in this case I was let down. As a side note, I place an order with 1800 flowers for a wreath on the day I found out this order was dropped, and they delivered it the next day. Live and learn.
