Two year old $1400.00 dishwasher self destructed. Motor burned out, pumps and heating coil.

The dishwasher noted above completely broken down. Four hundred dollars into repairs the repairman said it wasnt worth fixing. We are a two senior person family so overuse or misuse was clearly not an issue. I was completely frustrated by , parts no longer under warranty , or what, no extended warranty? Attitude. And even more frustrating, yes, that happens. I believe 2.5 years should NOT be the expected life of an expensive appliance. Nor do I Believe we should accept this from appliance companies. Where do all of these self destructing appliances end up? A landfill. Not acceptable. Time Canadian appliance companies did better. European countries have exacted higher standards of practice for appliance companies to better their parts and guarantees in order to keep appliances working and out of landfills. User's recommendation: This is an excellent site. A response from the company arrived, albeit not one I was happy with.
