5/14/2021: I have filed my taxes with turbotax for several years. This year on my state tax return it kept returning an error message on my SC 1 form for a compliance date. I spent over 12 hours trying to resolve this with turbo tax staff being passed from one person to another, being given different answers and having to redo the same thing over and over. I was finally told to change the compliance date and when I questioned the legality of this based on past tax return information submitted, I was told I was all set and to go ahead with e-file. I paid for e-file and the system will not allow me to e-file. I called back saying the system was still giving me an error message, couldn't e-file and requested a refund on the e-file fee and was informed they would only return 50% (after a day spent trying to communicate and resolve the issue). I spent hours trying to resolve this, payed over 225. plus tax for service and received conflicting information, inaccurate information, and ultimately advice to change information submitted on previous tax returns that was accurate. I was requesting a refund on only my state portion. I am now faced with having to have someone else redo/review the state portion, pay for that and turbo tax charged me as well. I will be filing a complaint with my state attorney and senator and have requested a review of my last 6 years of returns with turbo tax.
