Trustmark National Bank – Trustmark – Secretly Shares Customer Account Information With The Government Without A Warrant – Which Allows The Unconstitutional Seizure of Customer Funds

1

Trustmark National Bank, aka Trustmark, aka Trustmark Bank and ATM, willfully violated my trust and privacy by notifying the State of Mississippi that I held an account with their bank. Trustmark National Bank allows the State of Mississippi to run social security numbers through its banking network to find persons who owe past due taxes - which then allows the State to seize their funds from up under them without proper notification to the individual. Trustmark National Bank works against its own customers. My Bank Account was seized for past due state taxes over a decade ago that I knew nothing about. I had received no notification from the State of MS. I was an out of state resident living in Tennessee for almost a decade. Suddenly I wake up one day and my bank account has been seized and the funds taken. I did not know why. So I immediately called my local branch located at 3714 Canada Road in Lakeland, TN and spoke to an agent who said that the State has been running social security numbers through the banking system for years to find out who has an account. She told me the state of Mississippi had seized my funds. When I called the MS Dept of Revenue I was told that the funds were for taxes 13 years ago. I had received no notification. My information was easy to find online and before I left the State of MS I had to notify them of my would be address so they HAD my address. I was informed by an Attorney in their legal department that Mississippi had passed a law that required all of the banks to run socials at the state request to see who has an account. However, the Attorney said that this was a state law and only applied to banks within the state. But I was a TN resident and I had opened my account with at a TN Bank. Yet Trustmark still turned over my information to the state who yanked my bank account without giving me a chance to resolve it. The money in my bank account was for mortgage, medicine and transportation costs to and from my job. This unconstitutional seizure of my funds by Mississippi and the way Trustmark violated my trust has caused me deep financial distress because now I have no way to pay my mortgage, buy needed medicine and go to work. This was a low down dirty underhanded move by Trustmark National Bank. I had maintained an account with Trustmark for several years. I trusted them. And before I opened the account I asked the Trustmark Representative no less than four times if someone could access my bank account and she said 'NO' and mentioned I would have to give them the account number. Yet Trustmark National Bank has been secretly running social security numbers for the State for years violating their own customers privacy and trust. As a Tennessee Resident I should have been immune from having my records and account seized by another state acting under that state's law. This is all the more reason to keep your money in a shoebox or place in a tree instead of placing in a bank. Trustmark National Bank - or ANY bank that does this. I've heard reports that various states now are demanding that banks who operate within the state give them access to their records. Solely for the Seizure of funds. This is WRONG. It's time to buy a fireproof safe and keep my cash on me.
