Treatment by Meijer Thrifty Outlet Manager

3

Hello, I found a wallet outside in the parking lot at Meijer Thrifty Outlet on Alpine Ave Comstock Park, Mi today in the afternoon, Nov 8, 2020. I took it inside and asked for a manager. Didnt get her name. Woman with grayish hair and glasses. She said I could leave it there or call police. I said I would give my info to her and take wallet with me and if nobody claimed it in 2-3 weeks I would keep it. I counted the money in front of her . On the way home I received a call they had someone come in and ask if someone found a wallet. I called the store and told the manager I would be there in 30 mins to return the wallet. I get to the store and a short dark haired woman who did not identify herself was standing in the aisle in front of the store. I figured she was a authority figure. I told her I had the wallet. I asked if the owner of wallet was there. She said she couldnt tell me who it was. She then said can I just have the wallet and I said here. She took it and walked toward the back of the store. I and my husband walked around looking at merchandise. And when we got in our car a couple of women came out and got in their car and the dark haired manager watched As they got in their car from inside. My point is I was made to feel like a criminal. I did not have to give my information and phone number to the cashier when I found the wallet. I could have kept it. The dark haired manager, was not friendly at all.
