TracFone disabled a recently purchased phone without notice

1

I had been using a phone number for more than four years. The screen my phone got cracked so I ordered a new phone and asked for my number to be transferred to the new device. I made two calls on the new device, then TracFone disabled my access to the phone number. The company says it got a call from another customer saying the transfer of the number was not authorized even though I was the customer using the number for more than four years. They are demanding documentation of proof of purchase. They say it will take up to five business days to verify. How the company could not perform a simple transaction of transferring the number to a new device is astonishing. User's recommendation: Choose any provider other than Tracfone.
