I got into an accident on 6/05 on a rainy day. I called AAA for a tow (my first experience with AAA) and the young man that arrived was helpful and efficient. Several hours later I received an alarming call from the tow truck driver asking if I had my car key fob and his work phone, which I did not. He admitted that he lost them somewhere, apologized, and said his company would work with me on my key. About 20 minutes after that, his boss called to tell me that there was a monetary reward on the phone because it was expensive. He did not mention my key and when I asked, he said they were going back out to the scene to look for both and the company would work with me. A few hours after that, the body shop called for the key because they couldn't work on it without the key and the tow truck driver dropped off the car right in the middle of their lot. So in the middle of a tropical storm, about 6 hours after I had just been in an accident, I got back on the wet road to drop off a spare key to the body shop. I followed up with the boss the next day and left a message. When I reached him on the third day, he told me I had to call the office and gave me the number. When I called the office, they mentioned they had heard about my case and only the owner could deal with my case and took a message. I called the office again 2 days later and talked to the worst person I have ever talked too in my life. This woman (who was different than the first) initially tried to blame the lost key on me, then tried to say it must not be important since I waited so long to report it. She wouldn't let me talk, told me she'd leave a message for the owner, that they'd get to it when they got to it, and hung up on me. This was the rudest person I have ever spoke too and the worst customer service I've ever experienced, and I'm from Miami. It's been 2 months and I still haven't heard from them. I've finally got my car back, got back from my trip, and I'm ready to get a new key. I called the local police, and fire station around the corner from the accident, to see anyone turned in a key and no such luck. All I want is to be made whole for the key that they lost and have been unable to resolve it directly with them. Can you help? Also, while I hope that I never have a reason to use another tow, is it possible to exclude them from my file so that they never give me another tow when I go through AAA please?
