Total scam company, RUN AWAY!!!!!

I just purchased our families first home a few weeks ago and as part of the purchase the sellers included a home warranty from Home Warranty of America (HWA) as part of the deal. At first this seemed great I was very excited to have the coverage just in case and it really helped ease my mind on the purchase as i know stuff happens and repairs can be expensive. Well so just this last week a significant leak started in my family room. We did some investigation and found that it appeared it was coming from the bathroom above seeming coming from the bathtub/shower. So I contacted the HWA to see about filing a claim to repair the leak and for damages to the ceiling below. Well its been terrible. First off their website doesn't work properly for mobile devices. I was not able to file a claim online with my phone (galaxy note 9) as it would give an error after filling out the fields when trying to submit. So whatever i found my laptop and filed a claim there. So already seeing the shoddy website made me think I should expect issues, working in IT myself its very telling how much care you put in your customer facing systems as an indicator in how their service is in general. I was happily surprized to get a call fairly quickly back from them to review the claim and set a time for a plumber to come take a look. Well they set the time for a window 8am to 10 am on Monday morning. Well the plumber didn't show up till 2:30 in the afternoon. Well as long as they fix the issue, I thought whatever.. but it got worse. The plumber came in looks at the damage to the ceiling in the family room, then went to the bathroom above, ran the water for a couple minutes. He then tells me I don't have an access panel,well no kidding i told the plumber that's what your here for take to take a look and determine where the leak is. He refused to cut *** to find the source of the leak or drill *** to put in a camera. Simply told me he was gonna have to write it up, contact the company and have someone else come out. Told me they would call me and set up yet another appointment. He then told me I owed 100 dollars for the visit. TOOK A CHECK FOR $100 FOR ABSOLUTELY NOTHING DONE. Well no calls the next day or the day after (which is today as of this review), no updates to my open claim online, so I reached out to them over the online chat service. I explained the encounter with the plumber and told the person in the chat that nothing was done and no one contacted me or updated the claim so i had no idea what was going on. She went in to tell me that the Plumber stated he was refused access... SERIOUSLY!!! nothing about no access panel to the plumbing, simply that he was refused access. WOW... So anyway. I went in to explain that he was indeed in the home but refused to look into the issue and I paid 100 dollars for absolutely nothing. She was polite but yet told me that they will not be able to move forward with the claim unless I gave them my full home inspection report. I asked if it was required as i know they are simply trying to avoid processing the claim. Was told they wouldn't do anything going forward without the document. I sent it over, later to be told from my agent not to send, but by then it was too late. And while everything came back fine on the report and everything was tested I know they don't make money by processing claims and figured they are simply trying to find any way not to do anything on this legitimate claim or at least have it to show why they wont process another wont repair any future issues. Even though there was no significant issues in the report. So now they said expect a call in 24 hours on what I'll need to do next. Now if this is the trouble i get for a some leaky bathroom the first time I've filing a claim I'm not confident they will be of any use at all if something more major were to occur. I don't recommend this company what-so-ever. Well, they never called me back in the window they stated, they did however claim to after I reached out again today to find out what was going on. This time they went on to tell me that they can't cover the claim referring to something completely unrelated; "NOT COVERED: stoppages and clogs that cannot be cleared by cable or hydro jetting, or that can only be cleared through roof vent, access to drain or sewer lines from vent or removal of water closets." Again this was for a leak from the fresh water supply when running the shower, nothing to do with anything they are claiming above as a reason to deny the claim. I made sure to tell my real estate agent not to recommend these guys going forward and have shared with him my experiences and captured screenshots of my conversations. I'll be sure to let everyone I know what I have had to deal with with this scam of a company. Currently I am fighting with these clowns to get my 100 dollars back for the fee for the "plumber" coming that did absolutely nothing. I'm not paying them money to do nothing. That is some bull. Do yourself a favor and stay away from these crooks. They will charge you just to look at an issue and will deny your claim anyway. Not sure how companies like this one are still around in this day in age. I really hope they get their *** sued off. I'll be sharing this experience on every platform I can find. If you happen to come across this company, Run away fast.
