I recently purchased McAffee Total Protection. When I tried to install it, it got so far then stopped. I then phoned the helpline. After a lengthy conversation I was told that my IP had been hacked in Japan and they could resolve the issue for £299. So, I couldn't finish the download till this sum was paid. I spoke with my ISP and there was no evidence on the line that it had been hacked. Nor unusual activity in banking or anywhere else. Fortunately I got a refund on this product, but McAffee need to look into the practices of their support team. Where does the £299 go? McAffee or the support centre? I will be surprised if McAffee respond as looking at the customer reviews on Amazon this is a common experience. Surely everyones computer can't be hacked or full of viruses!! David Kirkman
