Took money for themselves!

5

I called to make a donation to this company because I have strong faith to Israel and helping provide aid to Israeli citizens who are suffering. When I checked out the website, I figured the place was using the funds to solely help Israelis and fellow Jews who needed Medical aid and food, during these tumultuous economic and political times. I figured Maden Adom was an 'emergency lifesaver' and I had heard people singing their praises for all the good they had done for the IDF and other people who are in trouble over there. When I called I spoke to a young woman, Galit Dardashtian who claimed that she would be able to help me direct my donation to the appropriate place and also to receive one of the beautifully illustrated cards that AFDA makes to use to donate to the troops and others in need. Galit was extremely curt in my first interactions with her, which I found incredibly surprising, after all I was calling to contribute and get more information about a place that I thought was helping my fellow Jewish friends suffering in Israel. Curious, I began to ask more questions about the cards and what the safest way to make a donation was. She seemed increasingly annoyed at my questions and the conversation and tried to get me off the phone. Being that I have alot of funds and make a decent amount of money, I wanted to put a portion of that money, $300 to be exact to the "mitzvah project" and to provide food and emergency care, Galit told me to give me her credit card number and she would apply the amount to the mitzvah project, after giving her the information, she thought I got off the phone and I heard her murmur under her breath "finally I can put some money towards that new bag I want". After getting off the phone with her I found out that donations were supposed to be made safely online, not over the phone, I trusted the organization so I did not know. I never received a thank you letter or anything regarding my donation, now I'm out $300, what a scam for a place who is supposed to help its fellow Israeli citizen!
