Took away a very important feature

We just purchased our second Miele dishwasher, as we loved our last one. The new one works great at cleaning the dishes, which I realize is very important. The problem with this new one is that there are no longer any indicator lights whatsoever when the cycle is done. That is, when dishes are dirty there are no lights at all, and when the cycle is complete and dishes are clean, also NO LIGHTS at all. I phoned Miele to ask, and was told this was likely an energy saving thing. All I know is, I find it very frustrating. My daughter has twice now unknowingly added dirty dishes to a clean washer, and who can blame her when there is zero indication? If they could come up with a fix for this maybe? Have technicians come out to make adjustments to the light panel? Anything? Very shortsighted decision-making for such an expensive and high end product. I’m all for saving energy, but it can go too far, as is the case in this instance.
