To be avoided

Too much confusion by staff members for me. A test was requested of a nurse. We were told a case manager who then had to handle this. The case manager said no, the nurse had to do it. Oh, we got to wait 4+ hours to find this out. In response to a question about a medicine prescribed, a doctor answered that it wasn't his job to explain pharmacology. Nursing station sometimes unattended. Doctors and nurses did not know what each other had done. Charts or computer were not always brought into a room so patient did not know test results. Undergarments were not changed in over 24 hours. A nurse stated she didn't know what was going on with the patient because she had just gotten there even though I had seen she had been there for over an hour and a half. Smiles from volunteers, none from paid staff. Clean and fairly up to date for a small facility in a county inhabitated by OLD people (you can look up the stats). Date on calendar in hallway on a whiteboard wrong. When pointed out, a joke was made this was a test. Over 5 hours it wasn't changed. Yup, a small thing. But, why not make it right? Because this is a confused, understaffed or undercaring hospital. Go elsewhere unless your doctor practices there and you know he or she will be watching, carefully
