This is about really poor quality Batteries
1
Over the decades as a Deere customer I have been overly satisfied with their replacement batteries, TIL NOW. JD's batteries served us for an average 10 years before replacement. As of now of the five batteries I have purchased in the last year and a half, THREE have failed. Those THREE failed right at the one-year-old mark. Meaning no warranty. The last TWO failures began in June 2020. They were originally purchased Aug/Sept 2019. When my diesel truck started acting up, it sat in our rural parking lot till it had to be towed to the nearest city where a capable diesel mechanic informed me that these two supposedly new JD batteries were only delivering 10.8 volts to the starter. Furthermore, they distinctly resembled Canadian Tire batteries with John Deere labels on them. It will be very interesting to see how the winter treats my newest battery that starts our main tractor. It is quite obvious that John Deere has shifted its ability to make margin by downgrading its quality in the parts they sell to their unsuspecting customer base. Based on all the quality issues I see here on the complaint board you can go ahead and add this particular item. Oh yes, to add to that, the customer service is terrible. The employ peoples on their counter with no authority to make a decision relevant to my complaints. User's recommendation: Read it and decide for yourself.
