My sister-in-law lost her last few days of life because their aides were not even trained to check the oxygen tubing for kinks or becoming disconnected. Now two or three days only matters when your sister is coming from Japan to say good bye, and now your unconscious and can't say good bye. Sadly someone ran to the house when the idiot aide called and said she thought she was going to die because she couldn't breath. Alas the tubing had become dislodged from the oxygen tank, and she had gone too long w/o oxygen. She never regained consciousness, and died two hours after her sister arrived. Another aide had already dealt with a kink in the tubing a few weeks earlier and my sister-in-law thought to follow the tubing herself. My niece would try to train each aide that came because none were trained. We finely put up such a stink about having a different aide every day we finely got one for a few days in a row... Wow. They tell you what they will do what you need - even if they know they can't!
