Recently, I returned to the site of the former KMart store that went out of business in Lake Charles, Louisiana. It was real sad. All of the signage had been removed and the fenced in area where they kept outside stuff was completely gone. The doors had metal coverings completely covering them and it looked sad and ghostly. I remembered the little coin operated ride with the horse that I used to always ride on when I was a little child. I remembered eating the delicious 10cent Submarine sandwiches that we used to get at closing time. I'm hoping that a new store will take over the property and have a little restaurant inside or maybe a little food court or something. I still remember the children at school making jokes about other kids getting their clothes from the KMart blue light special and I would always laugh because KMart is where I got much of my school clothes from. Oh, KMart, you were a cheap, tacky, *** old store, but seeing the bare storefront where you used to be made me so sad. Maybe they could come out with a L Mart. They could have a drive through where you could drive inside part of the store and then give a list of the items you wanted to the store associates who would then find them and put them in your car for you and then you could pay on your way out. You wouldn't even have to get your lazy donkey out of the car at any point during the shopping trip. The "L" would stand for "Lazy" Mart. I bet that they would be doing the business and become a very successful discount store. There would be a real long line snaking around the block of customers waiting to go through the drive through.
